BREAKING: Khaila Wilks Czereda Extradition to Tennessee - HALTED

Updated: Apr 16, 2025

In a major victory for justice, Khaila Wilks Czereda will temporarily not be extradited to Tennessee! At today’s extradition hearing, Khaila’s legal team filed a Writ of Habeas Corpus, exposing the fraud and misrepresentation committed by the Crum family’s attorney in the family courts—lies that led to the creation of the criminal charges against Khaila.

The court accepted the writ, effectively blocking her extradition to Tennessee. This decision marks a critical step toward exposing the legal manipulation that has targeted Khaila for simply fighting to protect her daughter, Iris Crum. However, this ruling is temporary, and the threat of extradition still looms.

What This Means

This ruling prevents Khaila from being forcibly taken to Tennessee, where the fraudulent case was re-opened at the insistence of the Crum family’s legal team. However, the fight is not over. While this is a major victory, Khaila must still be fully freed from this wrongful criminalization, and Iris must be returned to safety.

The Fraud That Cost Khaila Her Freedom

This case has always been about state violence against Black mothers and the protection of abusers. The Crum family’s attorney manipulated the courts, weaponizing a 2018 custody order that had already been overturned by a 2020 ruling granting Khaila sole permanent custody. These fraudulent legal maneuvers led to Khaila’s arrest, incarceration, and months of unjust detention. Today’s ruling acknowledges the deception and legal misconduct that fueled this case.
